![]() The mid section looks to have not had any repairs. The butt section also has been stripped of varnish down the stripper guide and rewrapped long ago. The butt section's serial number would have been next to the ferrule and when the ferrule was moved down that serial number was lost or covered up by the ferrule. There is a serial number on three of the four sections which looks like "175". All the original snake guides are present including the agate stripper and tip top guides. The varnish is in a poor lousy condition with scrapes and scuffs and a total meltdown but looks to be original. The ferrules fit together nicely and have a good pop when pulled apart. The butt section measures 33 1/2" and the tips are 33 3/8" and 33". The only section of the rod that is full length is the mid section which measures 34 1/2". The rod is marked on the butt cap "ORVIS MAKER". The rod is in poor to fair condition (Read Below). Here is an antique 8 1/2'(3/2) Orvis bamboo fly rod. I might not mention something in the description about the rod that is important to you.
